HIV management
HIV management & follow up
Service Description
With the right treatment, taken consistently, people living with HIV lead full, healthy lives. My job is to help you get there and stay there. I hold a Diploma in HIV Management, and this is an area I've chosen to specialise in rather than one I manage incidentally. I can help with starting treatment after a new diagnosis, ongoing monitoring for anyone already on antiretrovirals, managing side effects or switching regimens, and adherence support without judgement. I can also advise on PrEP, disclosure and family planning. I monitor your current treatment plan and adjust it as your progress and biomedical profile change — treatment should respond to how you're actually doing, not stay fixed by default. Where investigations are needed, I'll order and follow up your blood tests and any necessary imaging, such as chest X-rays or ultrasound scans, and we'll go through the results together rather than leaving you to interpret a number on a page. Consultations are by secure video at a time you choose — no waiting room, no reception desk, nobody who might recognise you. For many people that privacy is the reason they engage with care at all, and it's a good enough reason. Everything we discuss is confidential and protected under POPIA. Your records aren't shared with employers, family or anyone else without your consent. Blood tests, imaging and HIV testing itself need to happen in person. I'll arrange what's needed at a facility near you.
